PAY CLASSIFICATION: R-20 CATEGORY: Regular Full-time, FLSA STATUS: Salary, Exempt OCCUPATION CODE: 11-1021 WORK SCHEDULE: 8 HOURS (On call, holidays, weekends, overtime, etc. as needed) |
DEFINITION:
Under Parish Administrator direction, is responsible for technical and custodial work of considerable difficulty in the maintenance of parish buildings and grounds; and performs related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Plans, organizes and directs general maintenance and routine repair work to be performed on parish buildings; supervises custodial employees in the care and upkeep of the buildings and grounds, must be able to coordinate with contractors for electrical, heating and air conditioning repairs in the Courthouse, Health Unit, Library, Highway Department, Landfill, Park, and Courthouse Annex buildings; may perform custodial duties such as cleaning and waxing floors, and mowing grass; assigns work to employees; insures that work is timely and properly completed; keeps daily work records; requisitions parts, equipment, and supplies; keeps preventative maintenance log on equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of accepted housekeeping procedures. Considerable working knowledge of the principles, techniques and materials used in the repair and maintenance of air conditioning and heating units; some knowledge of work skilled trade fields. Ability to plan and supervise the work of maintenance and custodial personnel; understand and communicate oral and written instructions.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent approved by Louisiana Department of Education
Training and Experience: Considerable Experience in General Building Maintenance and Supervisory, is strongly preferred.
License: Class E Vehicle Operator's License.
