How do I get a 911 address?

Go to the Lincoln Parish GIS office located at 107 W. Texas Ave. Ruston, LA 71270 to fill out an application or call 318-513-6450.  If you are outside of a municipality you may also need a building permit. To apply for this permit you will need to bring a filed legal description of your property with you. If you do not have a copy of your legal description, you may obtain a copy from the Clerk of Court, located in the Lincoln Parish Court House. To find out more about permits click here.

Once you have given the information required about your structure, a member from the 911 Office will go out and GPS the structures location & measure the distance to the nearest intersection in order to calculate an address.  They will then call to notify you of your new address, as well as mail you an official letter of notification for your records. This process usually takes between 24 – 48 hours.

Please do not forget to bring the proper documents, as this will drastically slow the process!
